was much better than the previous night ? So glad to see that they showed many different black men in all situations and in a positive light. I was really impressed and happy that they did not slander the Black Man segment.
Bravo to CNN...... Yet and still I did not learn anything new last night. I guess these 2 part documentary was to educate the ignorant masses that know nothing about the black man in America but what they hear and see in the TV late night news.

I'm glad I watched it and indeed most of "us" watching were just watching to make sure it wasn't one-sided or condescending in nature. Ups to Soledad...she did her thing. But I also think we put too much stock into media by expecting it to accomplish someting. The very purpose of these things exist to shape the perceptions of those who discuss us. We must participate and have our own message out there to contradict the messages mass media sends. What next is determined by who you take the message to.
Time is too precious a currency to simply spend or waste; it must be invested.

We, US,People talk a good game but what is to come out of it. Will they improve the schools in the inner city? force companys to hire qualified black men and women?improve the heathcare system for all? change the policing policiy? We never make moves,some of us do, but as a collective we don't. What happend to US? Why cant get bond together and fix ourselves? I know (part) the answer but I still continue to ask why...

Last night's segment was much much better and quite varied in depictions. I think most of us black folk watched just for quality assurance purposes; to look out for discrepancies and what not. The main problem with the first segment "The Black Woman and Family" (which I think got it's title after the producers edited and packaged the video) is that it covered waaay too much ground for the time frame and seemed a bit unfocused. Overall, I'm glad I watched it, but now there is a feeling of What Next?
