Cultural Sista
Blessings Again Goddess Woman,
Taking a moment to share this poem that I wrote that speaks to a certain part of what you have stated.
Cultural Sista by Tonya K. Freeman
1998
Cultural Sista
I looked at your locs
And thought they were beautiful
But you didn’t even look my way.
Cultural Sista
I saw you dressed in the
Attire of the Motherland
And thought I was
Looking at a Queen…
But you ignored me.
Cultural Sista
I looked at your skin
And acknowledged your beauty
But you looked at me in disgust.
Cultural Sista
I thought you were real
I thought you knew
Of the pain and the anguish
I thought you knew
Of Willie Lynch
And his plan.
Cultural Sista
I thought you were aware
Of one love, one spirit,
Sistas on the front line
Showing our culture
To all the world.
Cultural Sista
I thought you could
Identify with a spirit
On it’s way to enlightenment.
Cultural Sista
I was hurt by your ignorance
But I know that
You are on the path.
Cultural Sista
I was hurt by your ignorance
But you are still
A beautiful Sista.
Cultural Sista
I was hurt by your ignorance
But I know that you are
A work in progress.
Cultural Sista
I was hurt by your ignorance
But we are still one
Striving for
Love, peace and harmony.
Cultural Sista
I was hurt by your ignorance
But I know
That if you truly look
You will see
The enlightened Spirit
And you will be free.
Note: At the writing of this poem, I was wearing my hair in locs and dressing in African attire everyday of my life. It was a wonderful time of finding another part of my being that embraced the joy of my African Ancestors.

Ancient Mother
Welcome SiStar Nefer Hathor,
You are in a good place for the healing to continue. Here are the lyrics of a chant that you may appreciate...
Ancient Mother
Ancient Mother, I hear you calling.
Ancient Mother, I hear your song.
Ancient Mother, I hear you laughter.
Ancient Mother, I cry your tears.
Ancient Mother, I hear you calling.
Ancient Mother, I sing your song.
Ancient Mother, I share your laughter.
Ancient Mother, I dry your tears.

Putting the hatred on
The hatred has become a very deep rotted life vibrating companion, friend in troubled times, a companion that comforts us a god if u like. We r in a very deep dark space. And 4 now & as long as we can hold on, have no intentions of comming out. I speak as a responsible member of african women, theres no point me trying 2 place myself out side of the circle. They r me & I thm its a we ting. Do I know the remedy, not really only 4 myself which of course is luv. The feelings emerging from the pursuit of our own hatred & denegration r rewarding 2 us thats why were there. If we were getting nothing from it, we would have moved on 2 something else!
She will move when she wants 2 & not before, up untill then the warriors of the pack will do their thing in smaller pockets, all around the globe, praying 4 a better sista hood day!
Welcome to the circle!
You are in the right place. This circle is filled with love of Self and Kind. We are truly sisters the kind that guide, encourage, console, counsel and love one another. There are no negative vibes here we are all accepted as we are, we appreciate that the Most High created us equal but unique at the same time.
Blessings,
Chayil
