The title is the reason for my post . i know we are to celebrate the greatness of our heritage 365, and till the day we move one to rest with the most high. But how exactly are we/you teaching our children. And is the culture of hip-hop included in it ?
Do you start with your family tree? or Do you start with the kings and queens?
Just a question my sisters in light of the month

It started with the name. My children were given Afrikan Names with the hopes that from the mere mention of their names greatness would materialize. The connectedness to their Afrikan lineage was decidedly ingrained as part of an every day affair. Just as you would use flash cards to teach words, phrases and numbers, you can do the same thing with historical places and people from an AfriKan perspective. Black History becomes not a Feb affair but a way of life. It is a common everyday buisness. You talk and engage in games, toys, books by and about black culture so that the kids see the importance of living and loving their beautiful blackalicious culture. It's serious buisness reclaiming the black mind and it demands that we(parents) make it known after exiting the wombniverse. The lies and transgressions are there to be erased but one must first decide to counter the lies so deeply rooted in our brains with documented truthisms.
