Money is tight, as it is for most people. So, the everyday or even the every-once- in awhile splurge is not a giving.Yet, even in these tough times you can still find pleasures and treasures out of the simple things.
Like... this past Easter/Resurrection Holiday, my family and I went over to my Grandma's for dinner. I noticed when I first came into her apartment, that my Grandma had a huge box sitting next to the kitchen, filled with odd items. I had a feeling she was donating or giving the items away, and sure enough she was.She invited my mother, sister, and I to look and take whatever we wanted. My Mother rescued two leather bags that were very stylish, my sister- a hooded dryer and a bracelet, and myself...

(l to r-clockwise) a marble elephant, pair of sunglasses, a vintage comb, marble elephant, another elephant, vintage key chain, coin purse, center" vintage mirror, and a tote bag (underneath all the other items. When I get a chance I am going to polish the elephants, clean the mirror and comb, and revamp the tote bag.Not bad for free items.
Now, today I was blessed with two other treats in the mail. One of them, I received from a sister (shouts out to Meshelle from Dallas) who took a creative challenge(http://www.nappturality.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=114359) that I posted on www.nappturality.com. Messhelle didn't know me from Adam, but she gifted me with a set of waist beads that she designed and made herself. It is so beautiful and I am so thankful for whatever reason out of the kindness of her heart she made something just for me.

The next thing I got today was from a good sister friend that I meet through myspace, who stays in my neck of the woods, named Kabba. She's a very talented and inspiring lady.Check out her out @ http://www.cafepress.com/kabbagoddess and http://www.cafepress.com/KabbaTate. I had been saying for months that I was going to cop some items from her. I had a few extra dollars to spend, so now I finally have a tote bag from her Aum/ Namaste' collection that I have been yearning for.So far it's been a yummy week!

I love getting new things, and I especially love getting lovely things in the mail, as well as thoughtful e-mails! the waistbeads are great I use to make and sell my handmade waistbeads through an online boutique( I will try to post pics in the craft circle forum tomorrow) we use to have but I plan on opening an etsy shop real soon so I should be creating more stuff sooner than later. Anyhow, I say all that to say we should do a waistbead exchange here on ymib...what do you think ladies? Maybe around mid spring?
