Leave a Comment: How do you keep your feet looking pretty? For many of us ladies our feet can end up being one of the most neglected parts of our body. Taking the time to nurture your feet with a cleansing and therapeutic pedicure will give you much relaxation and can help energize your reflex muscles with a good massage. Below you will find a few of our favorite picks & tips for the pedis! All of them are great especially the Cutie Kit, which is a great alternative to using the tools that your spa or salon uses that could very well contain dirty germs and lots of other things that you might not want coming home with you. So taking a good grade of professional manicure and pedicure tools along with you to your next appointment could save you from some medical bills or an over the counter purchase.

Going DIY with your pedicures can be quite inexpensive and still provide some good relaxation as well, not to mention the amount of money that you can save. All you need are the right tools and products. One of the most important things to have to make your DIY pedicures enjoyable is a good Foot Spa/tub. I like Dr. Scholls Foot Spa. You can add your favorite foot soaks, herbs, and solvents to your bubbling water and just sit back and relax, write in your journal, have a cup a tea, or a glass of champagne or wine and bask in your relaxation. Keep in mind that if you do use some sort of solvent or teas that you line your tub so that it will not stain. You will also want to have a good pair of soft white teri cloth towels handy as well. Make sure they are of good quality because the last thing that you want all over your feet before painting them pretty are pieces of lint.

Another great tool that is not featured below is a Nail Polish Color Correcting Pen. We all now how it can be when painting our own toes and how a slight slip of the hand can mess up a good paint job...LOL. So having one of these handy will give your feet a professional clean look.

Pedicures

Tip Toes: The first thing that you will want to do before starting your pedicure is to wash & scrub your feet, and clean your toenails, with your favorite foot scrub. Do not use the water that you will be soaking your feet in to do your pre-wash. Once your feet are cleaned then soak them in your foot spa along with your favorite soaking products. Let soak. Dry off with a towel and use your callus and heel smoother to get rid of those rough spots and another round of cleaning the toenails that have softened. Rinse and continue soaking a bit.

When finished dry your feet and file and shape your nails. Now take your cuticle oil and oil your toenail cuticles to soften. Push back your cuticles and very lightly massage your nails with a bit of nail or olive oil and lemon juice or any other nail oil. Then apply your favorite lotion/butter/oil to your feet(don't forget in between the toes). Pat dry nails and now you are ready for painting!
