If you love the sound of East Indian music, then you are going to absolutely fall in love with the beauty of sitar player Anoushka Shankar. Shes the daughter of Ravi Shankar, who is famous for his beautiful east indian compositions, and she is also the half sister of jazz singer Norah Jones. Anoushka has followed in the footsteps of her father and blends the modern with traditional so very gracefully. Her sound is full of mystical rhythms and just sitting and listening to them will offer some form of relaxation and calmness. Shankar was born in London and when she was eight years old, her father began training her in the sitar. She gave a public performance at the age of thirteen; since then she has become a world famous sitar artist. Her music is a modern fusion of traditional east indian music, jazz, electronica and vocals. We love it!
