I find it quite appropriate that Osun energy seems to be so intertwined with this site.
Beneath the mythology that depicts Osun as a coquettish, vanity driven, mulatto lies something deeper.
My experience with Osun is the foundation of this very site, which is : YOU, I, WE women MAKE IT BEAUTIFUL.
For me Osun’s mirror is a tool for self-reflection, used to look beyond the surface to what you have bubbling within.
For those who are familiar with the apataki is it not amazing that Osun energy is using this Ogun (technology) vehicle to get her message across.

Some resources
As I've said probably 3 times before (lol) I'm very new to the path of the Orixas. I know much of the tradition is passed on orally, but could anyone recommend some good sources of information on the Orixas, Santeria, Yoruba, or Lucumi traditions? I am planning to seek out others on this path, but I would like to know some things and contemplate them on my own first. So far I've found one good resource, a slim booklet on Oshun by Baba Raul Canizares that I've been reading over and over, and he has booklets on each Orixa so I may order more of those. Aside from that, I'd welcome recommendations. I feel so good and so many blessings are flowing through my life, and I'm only getting started. My heart and mind are hungry for more :)
OSHUN IS THE SOURCE
The translation of the word Oshun is The Source
She is the primordial waters from which all life springs...so of course we find her here amongst her daughters
Uplifting us, healing us, reminding us of the beauty to be found in coming together and inspiring us to be more artistic, more beautiful and more loving on a day to day , minute by minute basis
Oshun is the repository of the energy of Afrikan womanhood and so yes, She is here and within all of us
The Source of our strength, our lives and our ability to keep on keeping on
It brings tears to my eyes to be in a circle of women who speak of Her so openly and with so much love and overstanding
Our Munificent Mother is pleased! And may She continue to bless all of our endeavors with prosperity

Mothering is an act of revolution!
Couldn't have said it better
It has always amazed me how a website (many of which, when I visit them, convey very little true spirit or meaning) could help me feel so much love and balance and actually know myself and the hearts and minds of other sisters better! And there's definitely some strong Oshun energy moving through this vessel. I'm (extremely!) new to the path of the Orixas myself, so I loved your breakdown of Oshun's essence and the real meaning of that mirror. We can know and love others better once we know and love ourselves.
Beautifully said!

the mende people say that no place is beautiful if there are no women present. i too find this site to be a manifestation of Osun's river. i see SO many reflections of Yeye in the faces of the sistas on this site.
my iya says that beauty is harmony that we see and peace is harmony that we feel. Osun, she says, is the principle of harmony. i both feel and SEE that harmony throughout this site.
whenever it gets a lil bit rough for me...i come on over here and get refreshed in these waters. THANK YOU sistren for listening to your collective ori and coming together in this place.
your stories are an inspiration to me EVERY time i come here!
