Important!! We MUST be mindful of what pictures we put online

As I watched this I think I was just as alarmed as the mother:

The Adventures of Teddy P. Brains

Finding quality educational programming for preschoolers is easy, but as soon as kids hit 5 or 6 years old, the pickings suddenly become very slim. Therefore, the introduction of Teddy P. Brains is very exciting.

Journey into the Rainforest, the first DVD in the series, contains all of the elements to make both children and their parents happy. The exciting adventure is replete with educational material and opportunities for kids to exercise thinking skills. The educational elements are worked into the fascinating story so well, that kids will hardly realize they are actually being taught. In fact, learning becomes the most exciting part of a fun and mysterious adventure.

The computer animation works well, especially for this being the first DVD in the series. While it may not be the fantastic graphics and effects that kids are used to seeing from the big-money studios, the story more than makes up for any lack. I would have liked to have seen even more of the real-life images that are woven through-out the movie, but the internet serves as a good supplement to see what animals like the Anaconda and the capybara really look like.

Sight for Students: Free vision exams

In search for ways to cut the cost of much needed glasses for my eldest son, I came across this site online. Spread the word.

Sight for Students:

A VSP charity that provides free vision exams and glasses to low-income, uninsured children. The program operates nationally through a network of community partners who identify children in need and VSP network doctors who provide the eyecare services.

HELP: Allergic Reaction to Mosquito Bites

Greetings My Sisters,

My 2year old is Allergic to Mosquito Bites. Every time he is bitten he gets a large blister on the area that the Mosquito bit him and the area gets extremely hot. They don't seem to bother him however me as a mother, they really bother me. I took him to our pediatrician and they couldn't tell me what caused the bites/blisters, let alone how to treat them. I looked on-line and that is how I discovered what was wrong with him, yet no one seems to know what to do for it. Does anyone know what I can do for him, I don't want him to have to spend his summers inside or in hot clothing. Many thanks to anyone who can help us.

Many Blessings,
Anat Em Shep aka Anuket

Cosmetics, Make Up or Just Be You

Cosmetics and perfumes have been popular since the dawn of civilization. Yet in these days and times a certain standard for beauty has been set, a set image and style. If you don’t fit into that category of beauty, then you are considered ugly. This is why so many Nubians put on too much make up and Perm (which is not really permanent so you have to keep getting it done over and over again) or relax your kingly crown (9 ether hair).

You put on fake nails, fake eyelashes and even alter the structure of your faces by cosmetically or surgically thinning your nose and lips to make yourselves over in the image other than self and kind.

The Time Is Now

Gods, I greet you here on the banks of Mother in the time of NOW. First, I shall pour libation, oh ancestors thank you for bringing me here. I am here because of you all. Your invitation traveled far and wide through my blood line from Tamare or what many like to call Kemet or Egypt to NOW. I have a mission as do we all. I have seen enough to know that our problem is not unique. The time is now to remember my, your our greatness. We were robed of our land and our culture, and look what we have become, what MOTHER has become. She cries out every day, ....do you hear? The time is now to use our minds, open our eyes and see all, with three, form your pyramid. The saying is that the revolution will not be televised ...do YOU know what that REALLY means....are you a part of that mission. The time is NOW (2008)...how far have we come since 1712, is Willie still talking?
